Bruce Schneier Privacy Article

Bruce Schneier wrote the finest book on the subject of encryption ever written. The book, Applied Cryptography: Protocols, Algorithms, and Source Code in C was published in 1993. What little I know about encryption, I learned from this book. It was well written and covered a difficult subject brilliantly. I will never be able to say enough good things about this book!

Note, Amazon indicates that there is a newer 1996 edition available:

I mention who Bruce Schneier is because he gives a few tips on keeping your information as private as possible in an article in The Guardian:

For those of you just looking for a quick summary of the software links:

https://silentcircle.com/
Silent Circle is a $10/month service that secures mobile devices voice, text, video, and file transfers. I don’t know if I would ever use it, but it might be worth looking into.

Tails is a live boot operating system. You use it with either a DVD or a USB stick. You can use the internet a little more anonymously. You can reduce your traces while using the internet. It provides state-of-the-art cryptographic tools to encrypt files, emails and instant messaging. This is well worth a little time.

Newark Resident Speaks Out

This woman puts it on the line and tells it the way it is. This is the type of honesty that our politicians really don’t like.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tRTSrun6htA

This woman is making some damned good points and asking for help. I’ll bet she doesn’t get any.

The two-bit third-rate politicos have had everything their way for way too long! It is garbage like this, as she describes with passion and with a relentless and through precision, that needs to be dealt with.

Don’t give me crap about school funding. Don’t give me crap about the homeless. Don’t tell me about gay marriage. Honestly, I really don’t care as much about any of those things as much as I do about the violence and lawlessness that is in many of our big city areas.

It is time to stop with the side issues and handle the REAL problems NOW! I don’t care what party you are in, deal with the real issues!

In the end, it is people like the woman in this video who I really do care about. All she wants is a safe environment. She isn’t asking for the impossible she just wants some security. She also calls out the corruption in the reporting of crime clearly.

Newark appears to be a war zone.

Maybe we should work on these types of issues and let the Middle East deal with their issues without our money and without our troops. It is time to work on American problems.
