GOP Establishment Is Concerned

Gingrich, a man who I have a great deal of respect for, says Republicans Should Target Democrats, Not Their Own Party

Hotair.com, says Trump’s Attacks On GOP Senators Are Self-Defeating.

Both articles basically make the same big point. A democrat is not going to be helpful. Both articles miss the anger against those, like Flake of Arizona, who are pretty much democrats in Republican clothing. No. No more RINO free passes. Sorry establishment, but if we need to burn it down to get rid of you, we will pay the price. For too long the RINOs have had everything their way. For too long the libtards have had the ability to grow government without restraint.

Maybe electing democrat senators will derail Trump and the agenda. So be it. There comes a time that a party must be cleaned out and consequences be damned.

Flake will lose the primary to Ward. The establishment better start planning on getting Ward elected or plan on a democrat senator from Arizona. The establishment is also going to be losing McCain. It will happen. When it does, are they going to spend what they have to to get another establishment hack? Isn’t it wonderful when the RINOs have to spend ungodly amounts of money to merely survive?

If nothing else, the establishment RINOs now know what it is like to have to actually start worrying about the voters. NO MORE FREE RIDES!

Charles Barkley tells it the way it is

An article, Charles Barkley slams Confederate statue protesters, says it all.

“I’m not going to waste my time screaming at a neo-Nazi who’s gonna hate me no matter what,”

“I’m 54 years old,…I’ve never thought about those statues a day in my life. I think if you ask most black people, to be honest, they ain’t thought a day in their life about those stupid statues.”

“…the black community must focus on education, economic opportunity, and stop killing each other.”

I could not have said it better. Mr. Barkley is a man who understands that playing the victim card always ends in a bad hand.

Killer Robot Warning

The BBC article Killer robots: Experts warn of ‘third revolution in warfare’ is tragic.

More than 100 leading robotics experts are urging the United Nations to take action in order to prevent the development of “killer robots”.

They don’t realize that that bridge was crossed over long ago. Automated weapons systems that can make the call as to fire or not are already in the field. Anyone can buy the systems of-the-shelf right now. Look into the Kalashnikov systems.

The 116 experts are calling for a ban on the use of AI in managing weaponry.

The scientists are about ten years too late.

The article says that the technology does not already exist. The article is completely wrong. I’ve played with the open source AI systems, the best for me is TensorFlow. There are others, but it is the one that has balanced capability with accessibility in a way that I may be able to work with. Believe me, an idiot can construct a basic AI with an attached weapons system.

The UN can’t stop it. The BBC can’t stop it. The movie The Terminator put it best:

It can’t be bargained with. It can’t be reasoned with. It doesn’t feel pity, or remorse, or fear. And it absolutely will not stop… ever, until you are dead!

Why automate? Obviously military thinkers are not trying to screw the pooch so there are reasons for automation;

  • AI controlled weapons systems will not sleep.
  • An automated weapons system that has no human crew reduces exposure of our troops.
  • Automated systems have no medical plans.
  • Automated systems are very much a fixed cost.
  • Automated systems are THEORETICALLY more consistent than living troops.
  • Automated systems will carry out their function in any environment.
  • They can react with speed that humans can not. Who would not want our troops protected by flash deployable AI weapons systems?

The cons come down to a few basic points;

  • AI can be hacked. Your “troops” have just changed sides…
  • AI can not be reasoned with. Any event outside of their programming could be lethal.
  • AI is not humanity. Do we want machines that decide on the kills shots?
  • If you don’t trust your leaders, and you really should not ever really trust your leaders, can you trust the AI that they control? Accountablity is such a slippery concept when one can say “the robot did it!”
  • Understand that AI sees casualties and munitions as numbers. They have no soul, they don’t have a concept of good and evil.

I submit a scenario that illustrates these concepts is as follows;

  1. Bad guys line up a bunch of prisoners and child hostages.
  2. They march them towards the border post that has a weaponized AI package.
  3. THE AI PACKAGE WILL FIRE because THE AI PACKAGE MUST FIRE.

Think about it, an AI that wouldn’t fire in those circumstances would be useless. Some would say, yes, but a central command could override the AI.

First issue: What is communications is cut off? If communications are cut off, do you really want a weapons system that just gives everyone a free pass? I don’t think so! Thus, if communications are cut off, get the body bags and a bunch of sponges ready…

Second Issue: Lets say communications are not cut off. If the central command will override the AI, why have the weapons system in the first place? Simple logic, if you have a weapons system defending an area, it must fire or it has no reason to be there. If all it takes is a few hostages to get past the weapon system, your AI just became more useless than a Timex Sinclair 1000 without a power brick…

I read the following somewhere:

“An AI that can’t pull the trigger is useless. An AI that can pull the trigger can not be trusted.”

Summary: The systems exist and there is no stopping the technology. The U.N. is, was, and will always be a joke and are not really an issue in any case. Understand that the world has changed while everyone slept…

Afghanistan and America First

When Trump was running, I knew there was an inherent conflict between his desire to fight terrorism to the bloody end and his non-interventionist policies. When his desire to rebuild the American military was factored in, I was pretty sure that he would be forced to get involved in various adventures around the world whether he liked it or not.

When I am asked about the Afghanistan policy that he advocated last night, I am not enthusiastic, but I see where he is coming from. His success or failure will come down to Pakistan. IF he can stop terrorists from hiding there, great. If he can not but does de-fund Pakistan programs, good enough. If he fails to stop the terrorists and continues to throw money into Pakistan, he will have failed spectacularly.

I believe that North Korea will be a bigger issue in the near future because I think crazy Kim the wacky dictator will do something stupid and force our hand. Hopefully, I am completely wrong.

Why do I bring up North Korea? Aside from the fact that I think they are going to be a problem, they perfectly illustrate our issues with withdrawing from various areas of conflict around the world.

We could get the hell out of Asia. We would need to backstop Japan and South Korea while they developed their own nuke programs. Once they could launch their own missiles, we could exit without issue. That won’t happen because of self-interested parties in D.C. and the profit our allies make by having our troops and nukes support their nations.

We could easily withdraw from NATO. The congress and the senate are bound and determined to fight a war from seventy years ago with European cultures that no longer exist. Because small men with no imagination inhabit D.C., we are stuck in a European entanglement that we should go NO WHERE NEAR. Once again, the profit our allies make by having our troops and nukes support their nations factors in in a large way.

The bottom line? Until we are ready to go home and keep our powder dry, our country is going to bankrupt itself and fight never-ending wars. Our “allies” will suck our resources dry while the military-industrial complex celebrates.

Trump is not the problem, he is a symptom of the swamp that keeps getting deeper.

Nazis to March in Spandau

ABC News reports, In Germany, neo-Nazis get to march but threats are verboten.

500 Nazis are going to march this weekend in honor of Rudolf Hess, in Berlin’s western district of Spandau.

I’m sure everything will be fine. I know that the German government will be as careful with the Nazi march as they are with immigration…

Earlier this year, they had antifa running around during the G-20 summit committing various acts of violence and intimidation. Now they are going to have Nazis running around in tribute to Hess. Germany has hate groups all over the place and I just don’t think this one is going to end well.

Commies in the Woodpile

The statue illegally torn down in Durnham, NC? The title of the article tells it all: “I DID THE RIGHT THING” Pro-North Korea Communist Helped Pull Down Confederate Statue…NOTE: It’s NOT About the Statues!.

The vile bimbo in question? She is a member of the Worker’s World Party. Their website will tell you all you want to know about them.

The article details:

…supports the totalitarian regime in North Korea and wants to abolish capitalism.

I don’t hear the media mentioning that. Isn’t interesting that they have time to blame everything on Trump but don’t have the time to let you know who the “protesters” are?

I don’t care about the statues one way or the other. My attitude is that a simple vote in each area would have been a better approach, but if local political poobahs want to encourage vandalism and violence, they will pay a high price later… If their voters don’t like their decision, they may pay a price at the ballot box next time an election comes around.

Note, in the name of precision, despite the title of this post, I can not confirm that any woodpiles were actually found.

Are We Planning on Re-fighting the Civil War?

A talk show host asked the question: “Are we planning on re-fighting the Civil War?” A fourteen year old boy called in and said something both prescient and chilling. He said, I don’t know when it will happen. I don’t know if it will be tomorrow or ten years from now, but yes, I do believe we are going to have a war in this country. He pointed out that things are getting worse and he doesn’t see a way to avoid it.

That boy gets it. The country is headed towards an abyss and all morals and values are being sacrificed at the alter of the left-wing snowflakes’ political correctness.

When Donald Trump speaks truth, he is attacked for doing so. When people speak out with an opinion that does not follow the ultra-left agenda, they are shouted down or physically attacked. When all of the politicians who have lied their entire careers, stand up on their soapboxes and berate him for imagined offenses, the press cheers. Fake news is the norm.

There are many who believe that, one way or another, Trump will not be finishing his term as president. They really, really don’t understand just how lethal that scenario will become. Those who work and support their families and just want to be left alone are beginning to get angry. Such an event will convince those people that ballots don’t work. They will, rightly, decide that it is all a scam. When that happens, there is no going back.

At that point one of two things happen. Option one, they stop caring and let the country fall apart. Laws will break down completely and it will end up being everyone for himself, let the bullets fly. Option two, revolution. I’ve always said that revolutions tend to make a bad situation much worse…

In the end, it won’t be President Trump who is blamed. Right or wrong, he at least tried to do something. He has not spent his entire life feeding at the public trough. Americans did not elect him to go along and get along.

With all of the new and interesting ways of killing be invented each and every day, maybe it will be over quickly…
